Book Blog Hop and Bloggy News (10)

It is time for the weekly Blog Hop hosted by Jennifer at Crazy For Books.
It’s a great way for readers and book bloggers to connect.
Stop by Crazy For Books for all the details.

Bloggy News:

I changed my name ;)
Mama Bookworm is now Christie (The Fiction Enthusiast).
Things are also a little different with my layout and I have a button.
Lena from Simply Fabulous Blogger Templates is responsible for both.
Thanks Lena!
She has beautiful premades if you are in the market for a new look.

Reviews I plan to post over the next week.

I’m trying to decide if I should keep participating in the In My Mailbox meme. You can vote in the poll I set up, or leave me a comment if you have a minute.
Like it or leave it? I’d love to know.
How do you feel about memes? Any you love or hate?

  2. I like the In My Mailbox meme, as I love seeing what everyone else is getting. Always seem to find new books to add to my wishlist as well. But it's ultimately up to you if you want to keep doing it, as why participate if you don't enjoy?

  3. Christie-thanks for visiting my blog. I really like your new look, it's peaceful. You review a lot of books. Just curious-how many books do you read/review per week?

  7. Hey Christie! Love the new look! I like and dislike certain aspects of memes. They are great ways to publicize your blog and connect with other bloggers, but they are also time-consuming and not very original on the personalized content front. I've been wondering if I should keep participating in them, too. Right now I participate in IMM, WoW, and the Hop (nothing against the people who host them; I'd probably host my own someday). Why are you considering stopping your IMM posts?

  8. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it :)

Christy, how many I read/review per week really depends on my kids and husband. If he is working nights, I’ll read a ton. If he is home, not so much. I usually read three books a week but sometimes it is 4 or 5 (or less).

Kris, Your thoughts are similar to my own. I enjoy them and like connecting with other book blogs, but they are time consuming and time is something I tend to be short on. I just don’t want to sacrifice reading time and reviewing time for memes that people aren’t interested in reading :) Votes say IMM is cool so I’ll keep that one for now.
