Tens List: Matt Blackstone - A Scary Scene in a Scary Movie Blog Tour

Please welcome Matt Blackstone to the blog today!

Matt’s Top Ten Characters in a Movie

10. Keyser Soze, in Usual Suspects.  I love that name.  I could say it all day long if I weren’t married.  Keyser Soze, is, as my students would say, “O.D. cool” (an overdose of cool).

9. Effie White, in Dreamgirls.  Jennifer Hudson stole the show.

8. Jenny, in Forrest Gump.  Heartbreaker.

7.The Joker, in Dark Knight.  Chilling.  Creepy. Can’t look away.

6. Toto, in Cinema Paradiso.  One of the most underrated movies in the history of mankind.  Toto makes you smile, which is worth the price of admission (or Netflix rental).

5. Mona Lisa Vito, in My Cousin Vinny. Marisa Tomei is a genius. “You know, this could be a sign of things to come. You win all your cases, but with somebody else's help, right? You win case after case, and then afterwards you have to go up to somebody and you have to say, ‘thank you.’”  Love that.

4. Dottie Hinson, in A League of Their Own.  Geena Davis is smart, mature, loyal, athletic, powerful, funny, sarcastic . . . she was the best in a fantastic cast.

3. Ray Boyd, a.k.a. “the Jerry Maguire Kid.”  “The human head weighs eight pounds.”  Awesome.

2. Forrest Gump, in Forrest Gump.  One of the few characters whose voice you can hear when thinking of a quote.

1. Will Smith. I know he’s not technically a character but that dude is as cool as the other side of the pillow.  Especially in the summer-summer-summer-time.  Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

Fantastic list, Matt! Thanks so much for sharing your picks with us!

Matt’s debut novel, A Scary Scene in a Scary Movie, about a 14 year old boy with OCD is available now!
