ALA in New Orleans Recap

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend ALA in New Orleans last month. New Orleans is only 4 hours away and I knew I couldn’t miss it. It was seriously a reader’s dream come true! I met some amazing authors like Lisa Desrochers, Kiki Hamilton, Maggie Stiefvater, Jeff Kinney, Lish McBride, and Leanna Renee Hieber. I’m still drooling over the signed titles I brought home :)

I also met so many fellow bloggers like Laura from Life After Jane, Patti from Book Addict, Rachel from Parajunkee’s View, Sasha from Sash and Em, Nerissa from In The Name of Books, Jess from Gone With The Words, Jamie (& her fiance) from BookMarked, Jen from I Read Banned Books, Michelle from Windowpane Memoirs, and Christin from Between the Covers. If I forgot anyone I apologize. I’m trying to remember names and blogs via pictures and business cards :)

The Authors:

Maggie Stiefvater

(I was SO nervous LOL)

Jeff Kinney & my oldest kiddo

Brenna Yovanoff

I regret not taking more, but I was too busy stumbling around star-struck :)

The Bloggers:

A blurry Rachel, Me & Sasha

Again, I should have taken more pictures. I had so much fun with these ladies, and have to thank Rachel and her hubby for acting as NOLA tour guides. I hope I’ll get the chance to hang out with all of you again soon!

The Books:

Major stack of awesome right?

ALA was soooo much fun! I’m totally bringing the hubby next time so he can use his muscles to carry my books ;) My shoulders ached for days after carrying those books around ALA and the hike back to my hotel. Of course no way would I trade the sore shoulders for the experience I had at ALA.

I can’t wait to attend another event (BEA?), and hopefully meet more reading enthusiasts.
