Teaser Tuesday - One Moment by Kristina McBride

My teaser comes from an ARC of One Moment by Kristina McBride

"I leaned down and pressed my face into his pillow, breathing him in. Imagined him lying there, perfectly alive. Then I crossed the room and opened his closet door as quietly as I could, running my fingers along the soft fabric of his clothes. I wished I could tuck myself into the thick shadows of the small space. To stay there for the rest of my life."

                                         p. 62

My teaser this week comes from an ARC of Article 5 by Kristen Simmons

He'd chosen this over me."

“They were there, just as West told me they would be. Rows of Fallen inside the building, facing the windows, watching with inactive eyes. There were children with cybernetic legs, women with half faces, men with bare metallic chest. And they were just standing there inside. Waiting.”

Spells for love...spells for whispering secrets across a great distance -- not much use, since I hadn’t managed to run farther away from home than our own boring front garden. What I could have used was a spell for eavesdropping on secrets from far away so that I could hear the conversations downstairs.

I have two teasers this week! The first is from an ARC of Across the Universe by Beth Revis.

" I tried to shake my head, but as my neck muscles tensed, my lungs rebelled, and the cold, cold cryo liquid rushed down my nose, past the tubes, and into my body.

I felt the finality of the lid trapping me inside my Snow White coffin. ”

p.11 - 12

My second teaser comes from Shadow of the Sun by Laura Kreitzer

“ Whatever it was, the blackness -- like a shadowy mist --began gradually wrapping snugly around my body, warping and evolving as if it were a ghost. I tried to scream, but the shadow smothered my voice. My heart beat out a jagged rhythm as the blood pumped through my veins, burning like liquid fire. “

Then he does the absolutely, positively unthinkable.

He winks at me.”

My teaser this week comes from an ARC of Through Her Eyes by Jennifer Archer.

“What I’ve seen twice now over at the Quattlebaum farm is too strange to be real, which means I’m imagining it, and that I probably imagined those two hazy guys at the tree, too. It would freak Mom out to know that her father-in-law and daughter are losing touch with reality at the very same time. It freaks me out.”

She hadn’t, She knew that in her head.
But try telling her active hormones that.
They’d spent the entire weekend sighing dramatically,
longing for just a glimpse of the man in question.”
