My Two Cents

Historical romance was one of my go to genres, but for some crazy reason I hadn't picked up one in quite a long time. I happened to see 'Wed to a Spy' come up on my Goodreads' feed and I knew I had to read it. The Highlands is one of my most favorite settings and I was excited to sneak a peek into the court of Mary, Queen of Scots.

I really enjoyed this book. Like enjoyed it so much I had trouble putting it down until the wee hours of the night and finished it in record breaking time. I loved all the political intrigue and secrets. The main character, Aimee, was immature and that did frustrate me at times. Especially when Simon was trying so hard to win her over. But I get it. Being used as a politic pawn and forced into marriage with a stranger wouldn't put me in a great mood either. She was true to character for sure. There was definitely no instalove between the couple here which ratcheted up the sexual tension big time. 

Simon was fantastic and the epitome of historical romance hero in my eyes. I'm so intrigued by his group of spy friends and hope to see more books in this series in the near future. I feel like this world has so much more to offer and I'm dying to explore it.
