All the authors on tour were asked - "If you had to pick one holiday to celebrate every year (and no others) which would you chose and why?"
"Christmas. It's the one holiday that I have all my children at home." -Debbie Mason
"Christmas, of course! I love the way the
spirit of Christmas lasts for the whole month of December, and even
though there’s a lot of rushing around and craziness, people always have
a more cheerful sensibility around the holidays.
I especially love being able to celebrate Christmas with my children
and watch how much they enjoy our own family traditions (not to mention
the presents!)."
-Nina Rowan
"Definitely Christmas…it has always been the most important/memorable/enjoyable holiday for me!"
-Jennifer Haymore
"Christmas. I mean, I know that's what I’m
expected to say but honestly, I love gathering together on this
particular holiday, of making light in the darkness
of winter with family and friends." -Jessica Scott
"Samhain (pronounced sow-en), not to
be mistaken with modern-day Halloween. Samhain was celebrated by the
ancients as a cross-quarter day, the halfway point between Autumn
Equinox and Winter Solstice. This was the end
of summer and the start of the Celtic New Year, a time of deep
reflection as the long, cold dark of winter drew near. Autumn is my
very favorite season and I smile all through October, embracing Samhain
with my Old Ways-loving heart. This was when the veil
between the worlds was believed at its thinnest, allowing us to sense
the presence of those we’ve lost. Loving early darkness, and the cold,
northern wind as I do, Winter Solstice always brings a wee touch of
regret because as of that moment, the sun begins
reclaiming the heavens, the days lengthening. Keats called autumn the
‘season of mists,’ which says everything. I much agree with him." -Sue-Ellen Welfonder
CHRISTMAS, definitely, with all the family in one place!

Christmas... it's a time to remember and enjoy family and friends.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Knew I'd be odd man out today. No matter. I do love autumn (and Samhain) best of all the year's special times. Thanks so much for hosting the tour. It was fun to see the authors' responses. (even though I'd strongly suspected that they'd be ;))
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone in the drawing!
Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I even keep some of my ornaments out year round!
ReplyDeleteI would choose Thanksgiving since it's my favorite holiday. There's less stress during Thanksgiving because you don't have to worry about the gift giving yet.
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is my favorite. It's one of the few times my entire family are together at one time.
ReplyDeleteChristmas for the decorations
ReplyDeleteA hard question to answer. Autumn is my absolute favorite season, but I think I will have to say that Christmas is my favorite holiday. The season is filled with happy people., The atmosphere is happier as are more people. It seems to awaken the Spirit of goodwill for most people,
ReplyDeleteIt would probably be Halloween because my birthday is the next day and it's always been my favorite holiday. You don't have to buy any gifts for anyone, except candy - and that's voluntary.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt it would be Christmas. The one time my entire family is together and happines is felt by everyone present.

Definitely Christmas. It is the time of caring, sharing, giving and it is a magical time full of love and most especially Jesus was born. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteChristmas, it brings the whole family together.
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is my favorite, because I get to be with my son and grandson on that day!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough call, but I think I would pick Thanksgiving. I love it when the whole family gets together for the big dinner.
ReplyDeleteI would pick Halloween cause I love all things scary!
