Author Guest Post: Sarah Raymond - Signs of Martha Blog Tour

Please welcome Sarah Raymond, author of Signs of Martha, to the blog today!

10 Great Books I Love in Alphabetical Order

1          Cockatoos by Quentin Blake. Gorgeous drawings. Funny story. Weird grown-ups.

2          Feed by M.T. Anderson, a love story set in a dystopian, futuristic world governed by information technology.

3          Jellaby by Kean Soo. When my kids and I  finished reading this graphic novel, we were furious we had to wait a year for the sequel.

4          Just in Case by  Meg Rosoff . Novel about a kid hiding from Fate.

5.         Martha Speaks by Susan Meddaugh. Another funny and loveable picture book.

6.         Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O’Neill. Good for anyone’s bucket list—anyone with the emotional strength for it, anyway.

7.         One! Hundred! Demons! by Lynda Barry, a tragically funny story about managing to grow up.

8.         Persepolis, The Story of Childhood by Marjane Satrapi.
Graphic memoir of growing up.  I can’t put the book back on the shelf. It’s been out for five years now.

9.       Pure Spring by Brian Doyle. Just about anything by Brian Doyle makes my heart weep with awe and then some writer’s envy.

10. Wringer, by Jerry Spinelli. Ow. So beautiful it hurt.
