This week I’m waiting on,
Bunheads
by Sophie Flack
Releases October 2011
Synopsis via Goodreads
As a dancer with the ultra-prestigious Manhattan Ballet Company, nineteen-year-old Hannah Ward juggles intense rehearsals, dazzling performances and complicated backstage relationships. Up until now, Hannah has happily devoted her entire life to ballet.
But when she meets a handsome musician named Jacob, Hannah's universe begins to change, and she must decide if she wants to compete against the other "bunheads" in the company for a star soloist spot or strike out on her own in the real world. Does she dare give up the gilded confines of the ballet for the freedoms of everyday life?
Why I’m “waiting on” Bunheads? Main reason is that cover. I ♥ it! The title is also super cool and immediately grabbed my attention. Plus I just adore ballet, and I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a ballerina protag. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one!
This one sounds great - and is one I haven't heard of yet! It took me a while to figure out that the pattern on the cover was actually ballet dancers :P Great choice!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my WOW this week!
This looks really cute! I hadn't seen it before, but I'm going to add it to my list. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteThis one is new to me! I love the uniqueness of the cover and title. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
ReplyDeleteI don't read realistic fiction so this isn't probably anything I would read, but I have to say that you're spot on about the cover! It's so gorgeous and eye-catching. Incredibly different too.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading this one.

The title is rather funny-when I hear "bunheads" it is not ballerinas that come to mind but it is definitely a name that will be memorable. I think this sounds like an interesting book. It is always good to see YA books about the arts. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI thought those were flowers on the cover at first. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice choice. Kind of like the movie Center Stage.

The cover really is pretty awesome! Great pick this week, I'll have to add this to my list!
ReplyDeleteI got an ARC of this, and I can't wait to start it! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this one before! That cover is awesome and the synopsis is even better. I used to love ballerina books when I was younger but I haven't read any since. I don't think many have really been published. But this is definitely going on my tbr list. It sounds so good! Great pick this week and thanks for stopping by! ;)
