Young Adult Book Battle 2011

I had so much fun judging the YA Book Battle 2010 hosted by Alyssa from The Shady Glade. I  even discovered what is now one of my most favorite books ever (Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken!) during the judging process. I’m thrilled to be taking part again this year as a Round 2 judge. The theme for this years battle is Best Overlooked YA Book.

How can you help?

Alyssa is still looking for battle volunteers. Check out the Call For Volunteers to submit an application.

Nominate!

Get in your two nominations for most overlooked YA book.

Your nominated book should follow these requirements:
(Borrowed from Alyssa’s original post)
  1. It must be first published in English between 2001 and 2010. Reissues do not count if the book was first published before 2001 (If you know of a great book that does not meet this requirement, email me and let me know. Depending on the situation I might be able to make an exception).
  2. It must be either Young Adult (or middle grade with strong teen appeal).
  3. It must be an "overlooked" book. Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Eragon, etc. are NOT unknown/overlooked titles. They are international bestsellers. Choose instead a book that you love that you don't think many people have read.
Nomination form can be found here 2011 Battle Nominations Open!
