Description from Goodreads:

When the principal announces that every senior must participate in a mandatory year-long Marriage Education program, Fiona Sheehan believes that her life can’t get any worse. Then she marries her “husband”: Jerky jock Todd, whose cheerleader girlfriend, Amanda, has had it in for Fiona since day one of second grade. Even worse? Amanda is paired with Fiona’s long-term crush, Gabe. At least Fiona is doing better than her best friend, Marcie, who is paired up with the very quiet, very mysterious Johnny Mercer. Pranks, fights, misunderstandings, and reconciliations ensue in an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors about mistaken first impressions, convoluted coupling, and hidden crushes.

My thoughts:

The main character in A Match Made in High School is Fiona. On the first day of senior year, she is horrified to discover she’ll have to enter into pretend matrimony with one of the most arrogant guys in her senior class, Todd. After a not so nice prank involving a blow up doll, Fiona sets out for revenge. This book was a non-stop ride of pure, unadulterated chaos. I loved it!

A Match Made in High School actually made me laugh out loud. It offered a fast paced read with unconventional characters.  Even with it’s predictable plot, I still read and enjoyed every minute of Fiona’s sassy (borderline petulant) behavior. Quick, light, and perfect for summer reading. I love that hidden behind the hilariously sarcastic dialogue is an excellent message about friendship and growing up.

I must recommend this book as suitable for older teens due to some of the language. Nothing heavy, but what some may consider a little explicit for the younger teen/tween scene.
