Tennessee holds a special place in my heart. I was teaching preschool in Clarksville, TN when I met my husband. He was stationed with 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. Nashville was a regular spot for us to go on dates. Concerts by the river, bar hopping, and great food. We were married by a chaplain in a little church on post and had our wedding reception in Hopkinsville, KY. Fort Campbell is currently one of our top assignment picks when moving time rolls around in 2012. It is also one of the places we’re considering settling down permanently when my hubby retires from the Air Force. We have friends that still live there. When I see the devastation that has taken place it floors me. I have so many fond memories and to see it under water is heartbreaking. When I saw a blog that was trying to raise money to help I had to tell you all about it. Stop by Doing the Write Thing for Nashville and check out the auctions they’re having. If you know others who would be interested pass the link on to them. Not only can you bid on amazing book related items but all the proceeds go to help the folks affected by the flooding. You can also get updates via the Facebook page they have set up.
